Hymn of meditation: PH 563
God will order, your life such that,
All shall work out for your good.
Stormy winds you may encounter,
Put your trust in Christ alone.

We give thanks to the almighty for another moment in His presence to learn about Him and His works.

‘The workings of God’ is reflected in the creation story as found in Genesis 1 and 2. The arrangements of the mountains, the stars, the moon, etc; God called everything into being; He has power to control every season the way He likes, for our existence and survival. He created man also to have dominion over all His creation. Such a wonderful God we have!

John 5:5-9
One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath.

As in the passage above, Jesus, once upon a time came into contact with an invalid man by the pool of Bethesda, who had been seriously ill for 38 years. He obviously wanted a miracle but no one came to his aid. Jesus asked, “Do you wish to get well?” The man did not just reply a simple yes but went on to recount his problems and unfavourable situation before the Lord. This response from the helpless man moved our Lord to reply instantly, “arise, take up your pallet and walk”. What a miracle! Just a statement from the Lord and he was made whole – Is this not the working of God?

Beloved in the Lord, God is still in the miracle business today, and He will work in your life too if only you believe and put your trust in Him. He will deliver you from every bondage you may find yourself in only if you will tell Him your problem and struggle.

God is a great God of wonders. Be rest assured, maintaining this confidence that our God is God no matter what you are going through. He is still in His miracle business today. Just believe and trust Him.

Our God is a miracle working God.

God will restore you!

Isaiah 62:1-5
For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch. The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow. You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God. No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married. As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.

Through Isaiah the prophet, God revealed His intention to save His people from hardship and to give them salvation and restoration. The people of Zion went into exile in Babylon and were humiliated and destroyed by their enemies.

You may have gone through some pain in the past years where the very people you thought you could count on, turned aside and rather laughed and humiliated you and said: “now we have gotten to him, look how he/she has become”. Be rest assured! God is there with you.

Is it a problem of marital things or the fruit of the womb? Are you still searching for employment after graduating from the university many years back? The Lord is in our midst and will never disown us. That is His promise to His children; unless you allow your problems to rather cause you to disown Him as your father – yet, He will never disown us.

The prophet Isaiah said to the people of Zion after the humiliation and disgrace that, God loves them so He will never keep silent. He will deliver and bless them.

Paul said in Romans 5:8 that
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

God is still working for you. He will deliver you. He said He will make your righteousness shine like the torchlight and He will give you salvation, He will open heavens and bless you; Kings will come for your advice and He will give you a new name and a new city.

The Lord said He will give you a new name, a new look and a new direction; He will raise you above your enemies and when they see you, they will never recognise you and then they will wonder and ask “Is he the one coming, besides all that we have done to him?”. This is because the Lord has cleansed you and put on you a new garment so they will never recognise you. Even your children will bring honour and blessings to you. Joy and peace will flow in your home throughout the year.

Do you trust Him? Do you believe Him? If you do, then expect a miracle. It is a year of multiple miracles for you.

The spiritual gifts are special abilities given by the Holy Spirit to build the body of the Church.

It is not for you, but all about the church. When we gather at the feet of the Lord, then the gifts begin to manifest, prophecies start pouring out and others – It is biblical and not a new thing.

God directs us through visions. It will be difficult to ‘Go and make disciples of all nations’ without the spiritual gifts because there are spiritual forces out there that will put fear in you and frustrate you. However, if you arm yourself with the Holy Spirit, He will lead and direct you. Stay connected and get all the help you need.

In the third reading from John 2:1-11, Mary saved the situation as the wedding couple had run out of wine at the banquet. Mary knew what Jesus Christ was capable of doing; she connected Him to their need and there was great relief.

Do you know what Jesus Christ can do?
Do you know He can change your situation in a twinkle of an eye? In your difficulty and trials, who do you call on?
Why are you still crying for your enemies as a child of God, called by God?
May you be connected to the true source of help!
May your life change from bitterness to sweetness!
May His glory lead you throughout the year!

May He grant you peace and divine breakthrough!
