Hymn of meditation: PH 282

Spirit of God that moved the first Saints,
Spirit in Zion’s cities, come again.
Come quickly, move by day and evening,
Destroy and put to shame all enemies.
Fill us to spread the Gospel news abroad,
Souls harvest for the Lord, from every land.

To change is to cause a difference in a thing, to make a radical difference in the course or direction of a thing or to replace something with another or to make a shift from one point to another. Today’s theme admonishes believers to go out and reach out to the lost and perishing soul. We are to preach the pure word of God to them. When they receive and turn away from their sins, it means we have replaced death with salvation. This is because just after the repentance, God grants them salvation so if we go out there to propagate the gospel, salvation will come to a lost soul. Change begins to show up from within and ultimately at the resurrection of the dead for judgement.

As we preach and cause souls to make the ‘U-turn’, on that fateful day when everything is over, we shall rejoice with them at the resurrection. Our mandate today as the youth of today is to reach out in whatever situation, because there are perishing souls who need Christ. The Lord will strengthen you as you make up your mind to do so. Even in the church, there are people who are weakened in their spirits and willing to give up the fight and not move on again due to the many worries of this sinful world like marriage, childbearing etc. the word of God entreats us to embrace ourselves and be strong.

Song interlude:
Verse 1

Natsui mishie tse
tabiloi natsui ke
Ke tale naawa tuutu
Kaashe no gbeyei kraa po
/Hani wo huu jogbann
Ni wo gbe ta le Naa/

Say to one another ‘whatever the fight, I will move on’. Never give up the fight as the football team Hearts of Oak will say ‘never say die until the bones are rotten’. Whatever the trouble may be, we will preach the gospel, holding on to our confession like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did in Daniel 3:16-18 – “, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

The task ahead is truly heavy; we cannot accomplish with these feeble hands. Empower yourself with the Word of God. In the midst of the storm, God never leaves us.

Song interlude
Verse 1

I’m trading my sorrows,
I’m trading my shame
I’m laying them down
For the joy of the Lord
I’m trading my sickness,
I’m trading my pain
I’m laying them down
For the joy of the Lord

We say
Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes, yes, Lord

Verse 2

I am pressed but not crushed,
Persecuted not abandoned,
Struck down but not destroyed
I am blessed beyond the curse
For His promise will endure
That His joy’s gonna be my strength
Though the sorrow may last for the night
His joy comes with the morning

The Lord sent me to announce to you that the time of anxiety is over. Receive that special grace from the Lord. He will protect you as He has promised just like He did with the Apostles as they carried the gospel out to the unbelieving world.

Acts 26:18 – “to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place amongst those who are sanctified by faith in me.” May you receive this transforming spirit as you move with His Word to change the world. God grant you the eyes to see those who are in captivity to announce the Lord’s deliverance unto them. May you be connected to the Holy Spirit so you can hear Him clearly and soundly and tell the rest of the world exactly what He has said.

1 Corinthians 12:8-10 – “To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues”.

May you move in the Spirit as you take the Word to a dying world.

How can you change the world by the Word?

  • Study the Word to know it better.
  • Allow the Holy Spirit to control your life and direct your feet
  • Be prayerful so the Lord will open your inner mind and heart
  • Do not follow after your own knowledge but depend on the will of God.

I pray the Lord strengthens you to recover and move on to spread His Word to change the world.
